The Importance of Value Education in the Indian Context

 

Value education is the cornerstone of holistic development, shaping individuals into responsible citizens who contribute positively to society.  *सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः सर्वे सन्तु निरामया*।

*सर्वे भद्राणि पश्यन्तु मा कश्चित् दुःखभाग् भवेत्।।* 

 

सभी सुखी होवें, सभी रोगमुक्त रहें, सभी मंगलमय के साक्षी बनें और किसी को भी दुःख का भागी न बनना पड़े।

 

What is Value Education?

Importance in the Indian Context

 

1. Preservation of Cultural Heritage

 'सत्य एक है, जिसे बुद्धिमान विभिन्न नामों से बुलाते हैं'. यह वाक्य ऋग्वेद से लिया गया है. यह ईश्वर या परम वास्तविकता की वैदिक अवधारणा है. ऋग्वेद के ऋषियों का यह सर्वोच्च दर्शन है. यह आधुनिक मन के लिए भी रुचि का विषय है.

 यत्रैतास्तु न पूज्यन्ते सर्वास्तत्राफलाः क्रियाः।।

अर्थात - "जहाँ स्त्रियों की पूजा होती है, वहाँ देवता निवास करते हैं और जहाँ स्त्रियों की पूजा नही होती, उनका सम्मान नही होता, वहाँ किए गए समस्त अच्छे कर्म भी निष्फल हो जाते हैं ।"
