Eco Club Events in Our School
1. Eco-Friendly Diya Making Workshop
During Diwali, our Eco Club organized a special workshop where students crafted beautiful diyas (lamps) using natural materials like clay, turmeric, and flowers instead of harmful chemicals. These diyas were not only biodegradable but also promoted a pollution-free celebration.
2. Eco-Friendly School Model Project
Students collaborated to build a miniature model of an eco-friendly school using recycled cardboard, paper, and natural elements. The model featured solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, and vertical gardens, showcasing how schools can adopt sustainable practices.
3. Plastic-Free Campaign
To reduce plastic waste, the Eco Club initiated a "Bring Your Own Bottle" (BYOB) campaign. Students were encouraged to use steel or glass bottles instead of disposable plastic ones. Additionally, we conducted a plastic collection drive to ensure proper recycling.
In collaboration with local environmentalists, our Eco Club organized a tree plantation event in the school premises. Students planted saplings and pledged to nurture them, contributing to a greener campus.
5. Best Out of Waste Competition
Students showcased their creativity by turning waste materials like old newspapers, bottles, and cardboard into useful items such as pen stands, planters, and decorative pieces. This competition highlighted the importance of upcycling.
The Eco Club arranged a nature walk in a nearby park, where students observed local flora and fauna. They also participated in bird-watching activities, learning about biodiversity and the importance of preserving natural habitats.
Conclusion
The Eco Club is more than just a school activity—it’s a movement toward a sustainable future. By participating in these initiatives, students not only learn about environmental conservation but also become ambassadors of change. We look forward to more such events and encourage everyone to join us in making our planet healthier!
